Rising to Excellence African American Youth Mentoring Conference

TheVillageReport.Net (TVR.NET) and Millennium Men of Color (MMOC) seek to reverse high school dropout rate and counter negative entertainment images!
The Village Report.Net and Millennium Men of Color (501-3c) have joined forces to present the Rising to Excellence African American Youth Mentoring Conference. The conference is scheduled for: February 20, 2010 from 10am to 2pm at the East Regional Library 6813 Bridge Street, Fort Worth , Texas 76112 We are requesting community groups, churches and faith-based organizations to enroll youth in this conference. The targeted age group is 10 to 18 years of age.
Breakout sessions: Life after Dropping out of High School is designed to paint the grim reality of a life in crime, unemployment and being locked out of the mainstream of American society without the barest of educational essentials. College and trade-school representatives will be available to speak with high-school age participants.
Countering Negative Entertainment Images is designed to heighten the self-esteem of our youth and urge them to a higher understanding of responsibility and self-actualization.
General session: Q&A with Black Professional Men and Women In addition we are seeking professional black men and women to be present for a group interaction and question and answer period with our participants.
