MB2B wishes to thank all those who supported our Atlanta Educational and Cultural Field Trip Car Wash Fundraising Events and other fundraising efforts.

 

Its still not too late if you wish to make a financial confirmation to this effort.  Our current fundraising goal for this trip is $10,000.  We look forward to your financial support.

Funds raised from these events will assist in defraying the costs for an organizational Educational and Cultural Field Trip to Atlanta, Georgia in early August 2008.

MB2B African American Male Youth Symposium Call For Proposals

Mentoring Brother 2 Brother, Inc. will hold its first symposium in partnership with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, University of Texas at Arlington on Saturday, January 26, 2008 on the UTA campus. 

We are currently seeking speakers and workshop facilitators from the local and regional community for this event.  The conference is designed to empower, education and celebrate African American as well as other minority male youth between the ages of six and eighteen from the Dallas/Forth Worth metroplex area.

Symposium topics include, but are not limited to:
Manhood 101, Money Strategies, Sports, and Arts & Culture

PBG North Texas Celebrates Black History by Bridging The Gap
Board Member Dr. Tamara Johnson represented the MB2B organization as the Keynote Speaker for the Black History Program for the Pepsi Bottling Group at the Mesquite Learning Center.  MB2B would like to thank Ms. Patricia Scott and her committee for the opportunity to participate in this outstanding event.

 

Mentoring Brother 2 Brother has developed a Wish List with amazon.com for reading and literary resources by such authors Barack Obama, Hill Harper, Denzel Washington and Tavis Smiley. 

 

Mentoring Brother 2 Brother would like to congratulate co-founder Mr. Terrence Chase for receiving the peer recognition distention of Teacher of the Year from Daniel Intermediate School in the Duncanville Independent School District. Mr. Chase currently serves as Team Lead Math teacher at Daniel Intermediate and has been with Duncanville ISD for the past six seven years.  Mr. Chase will also be eligible to participate in the Duncanville ISD Teacher of Year nominations that will be awarded in late March.
 

MB2B wishes to congratulate Mentee Anthony Ross who is a member of the Dallas ISD Honor Choir.  Anthony won First Place in UIL City in Tenor Bass and Second Place in UIL Region in Tenor Bass.

 

January 2007
National Mentoring Month, taking place in January 2007, will shine the spotlight on the power of mentoring and draw attention to the need for more volunteer mentors to help America’s young people achieve their full potential. And as part of Mentoring Brother 2 Brother’s community outreach efforts we are seeking alliances with African American fathers from within the Dallas County communities to participate with our MB2B ManUp Initiative.   

 

The MB2B ManUp Initiative program is designed to have fathers with sons to participate in various program and organizational events the Mentoring Brother 2 Brother. <Click here for MB2B ManUp Flyer>
